Scene 5

[Note: This is a sequel to Falling Rain]

Joni straightened his tuxedo as he spotted Marisa getting out of her car. He
looked around his apartment that was filled with only the light of 50
candles. Joni quickly walked into his bedroom and took Florence's picture
from his nightstand, hiding it in his closet. When Joni returned to the
door, Marisa was already knocking. He took a deep breath and opened the
door. "Joni?" Marisa said in shock. Joni nodded as he took her hand and
kissed it.

"Come in." Joni replied, releasing her hand. Marisa walked into the
candle-lit room in confusion. Joni locked the door and followed Marisa. Joni
smiled and hugged her from the back. Marisa smiled and turned around.
"What's this for?" she asked, setting her purse down.
"For you. Just a little thing i set-up for you." Joni replied as he kissed
her. Marisa smiled and broke from their kiss. Joni smiled and led her to the
piano. He sat down and started playing. Marisa leaned against the piano,
listening to the soft melody. Joni began to sing, a smile appeared on
Marisa's face. "Why do birds suddenly appear everytime you are near? just
like me they long to be close to you. why do stars fall down from the sky
everytime you walk by? just like me they long to be close to you. on the day
that you were born the angels got together and decided to create a dream
come true. so they sprinkled moon dust in your hair and golden starlight in
your eyes. that is why all the guys in town follow you all around. just like
me they long to be close to you." Joni smiled as he finished. Marisa walked
over to him and kissed him. "I take it that you liked it."
"liked it? i loved it joni." she excalimed as she kissed him. "I love you so
much." Joni smiled as he stood up and held her. "thanks so much for all this."
"your welcome." joni replied. he stared at her as his hands moved down her back, unzipping her dress.

Scene 6

Marisa smiled as she awoke. Joni was already gone. She found a note on his
nightstand.
Good Morning Marisa,
Sorry i had to go so early this morning. I'll see you sometime later, alright? i'll call you.
Marisa smiled as she sat up. She placed on her clothes and searched through
his closet for a sweater. Marisa looked up at the top of the closet where
there were pictures frames. She smiled as she studied one of Joni when he
was eight years old. "Aha!" Marisa screamed as a fram feel. Marisa studied
it as it lied on the floor. She bent down to pick it up. It was Florence.
She looked up at the other frames, finding pictures of florence and joni,
one after the other. It was hours before she was done, studying one picture
after the other. Marisa stared at the clock. It was already 12:00p.m. She
quickly stuffed them up in the closet and hurriedly rushed to work.

Scene 7

Marisa forced a smile as she entered her workplace. Her friend, Kathaleya
English, greeted her. "Hey Marisa! Joni called here, checking if you came
in." she informed.
"Really? Oh, i have to call him back." Marisa said.
"Wait, aren't you going to tell me what happened last night?" Kathaleya
asked.
"Oh...it was magical! everything was. he had the whole room lit with candle
light and he sang a song for me. oh gosh! it was just perfect." Marisa
exclaimed. Kathaleya screamed in excitment. "You're so lucky!" she yelled.
She stopped as Marisa's smile faded. "What's wrong?"
"There's just one thing." Marisa said as she looked up at Kathaleya. "He
doesn't love me."
"What? Yes he does!" Kathaleya assured her.
"No, he's in love with his dead girlfriend. He has no pictures of me at his
place and get this, he never said 'i love you' to me. we've been together
for almost 3 years now!" Kathaleya stared at her friend in disbelief. "I
don't understand. he goes to her grave and tells her a thousand times he
loves her and for me...he's afarid to say it. I'm not complaining. i love
him with all my heart and i want to be there for him. it's just that i wish
he felt the same back."
