Chapter : 1
Amy woke up in the middle of the night hearing her little sister's
voice, Alisha, who was only 19 years old, arguing with her boyfriend.
She cursed under her breath. She tried many ways to shut her sister's
angry arguments, but nothing worked. She finally gave up. She stormed
out of her room and went into her sister's room. She knocked really
loud on the door.
"Alisha, will you shut up! I'm tryin to get some sleep here!"
Alisha opened the door with an angry and evil expression on her face.
"What the hell do you want?" she asked. "If you can't
sleep, get out of the house, for all I care, dammit!"
Amy gasped at her sister's mean suggestion. She couldn't take it no
more, so she did went out. She took her car keys and drove out somewhere.
To where? She had no idea. She just wanted to get away from home,
away from the arguments. Ever since her mother died two years ago,
the family fell apart. They weren't as close to each other like before.
Their father hardly comes home. He's always drinking and going out
to clubs. He's become so uncaring and gets angry fast. As for Alisha,
she parties regularly. Her boyfriend,
Jonny, treats her like dirt, but she constantly says she loves him.Amy
tried to focus on driving but couldn't. The weather was getting bad.
It kept on raining and raining, drop after drop of rain.
She stopped in front of her best friend' house, Nina. She decided
to call her on the cell phone.
"Hello?" answered Nina in a sleepy voice. "Who's this?"
"Nina, it's me."
"Amy?" Nina sounded surprised that she called so late at
night. "What's up?"
"Sorry to call so late, but I needed someone to talk to."
"I'm listening….Wait a minute. Did you and
your sister argue again?"
Amy was silent for a awhile…fighting back the
tears.
"Amy…I told you a million times to move out
the house if things don't work out."
"I can't, Nina. I can't leave my sister alone, and my father
hardly's at home. Plus, where am I gunna move to, huh? I have no where
to move to."
"Hotel, dummy…"
"Hey-I have to go. Ima go check in a motel or something, ok?"
"Ok, girl. Call me tomorrow morning, aight?"
"Ok. Bye."
"Bye."
After hanging up the cell phone, she drove away to some motel to sleep. She
finally found one not far away from Nina's area. It was quiet and
clean. No one around right now, and it's only 10:30 P.M. They should
still be
open to check in people. She parked in the parking lot, but before
she can enter the building…someone tapped her
on her shoulders from behind. She turned around, but before she can
look to see who was it behind her, it was too late. Whoever it was,
they kidnapped her and put her in her car and drove off.
(at Nina's place)
Nina woke up the next morning
getting ready for work. She was wondering what was Amy doing by now.
She was suppose to call like she said."Hmmm...that's weird,"
she said to herself. "Amy's not like this. I
better call her to make sure."So she called Amy on her cell phone.
She impatiently waited for her to
pick up, but she never did. The only thing that came on was the voice
message.
"Oy! Amy, what the hell are you doing? Pick up the damn phone,
for goodness sakes! Grrrr...."
She finally grew so impatient that she just hung up. She decided to
go to work and expect to find her there.
When she got there, Amy never showed up for work. She asked other
workers if they have seen her around the place or not, but all answered
"no". She then realised that Amy was ten minutes late for
work. Knowing Amy never missed work or was late, she became very worried
about her. She called to her house and Alisha picked up the phone.
"Alisha?" she asked.
"Yeah, it's Alisha. Who's this?"
"This is Nina. I called because I was wondering why your sister
didn't show up for work. Do you any idea where she is? If she's home,
I wanna talk to her."
"Nope, she's not here. Ummm...she left the house yesterday and
never came back, and I don't know where she is. Why? Did something
happen to her?"
For the first time that Nina met Alisha, she never heard her ask about
Amy if she was ok or not. At least ever since their mother died. Nina
just frowned.
"I don't know, Alisha," she said in a mean way. "Why
are you so worried about her, huh?"
"I didn't say I was. I mean- I'm not saying that I'm not....hey!!!
I have the right to feel worried about my sister, ok?"
"Cha! Whatever, Alisha. You're too ignorant to care about your
own family."
Alisha gasped at what she blurted out. "Eh, Nina! Chun ben nawng,
na?(I'm the lil sister, ok?) I do care, for your information, and
,yea, I might not always appreciate what my sister did for me, but
I do love her, alright?"
Nina felt sorry for Alisha now. She shouldn't have been so mean to
her, but she's also glad that she loves her sister.
"Sorry, Alisha. It's just that-oh never mind! I need to go find
her. She came by last night. She parked outside my house talking to
me on the phone, telling me how she wanted to leave her home, away
from you and your father, but, hey, I know she loves you, too. She
was just kinda getting sick and tired of all the arguments in the
house. Hey, I got to go."She hung up her cell phone and left
her job to go find Amy. While driving
back to her house, her cell phone rang again. She checked the id to
see who it was. It was Alisha that called.
"Yea?" she answered.
"Where are you going to find her?"
*sighed* "I don't know, but right now, I'm going home to figure
things out. *she then remembered that Amy told her she was going to
sleep in a motel* Hey! I know where she is."
"Where?!"
"At some motel. She told me last night that she'll be spending
the night there. Hey, meet me at the motel near where i live, ok?"
"Okay."
They met each other at the motel
that Amy said she would be staying in. Her car was nowhere to be seen.
Alisha went to go ask if her sister checked in the motel to rest,
but the lady only shook her head no.
They both sat on the hood of Nina's car, thinking where could Amy
be?Then Alisha recognised her sisters lipstick on the ground covered
in mud.
"Oh...my...God...Nina, that's my sister's liptick."
Nina picked up the dirty lipstick and studied it to mke sure if it
belonged to Amy or not. It looked like it. She threw the lipstick
on the ground, not wanting to believe that her own best friend has
been kidnapped.
"Alisha, could it be?" she asked, but more to herself.
Alisha was in shock, shaking all over. She shook her head, "No...It
can't be..."
"Alisha, what if she did? It's too late to find her now."
"Shut up, Nina. She can't be kidnapped. She probably changed
her mind about staying here."
"Why not, huh?! Dammit, she was here alone last night. Anything
can happen. Man, we gotta call the police to report this. She could
be in danger by now. *grabs Alisha's hand* Come on, let's go to the
police station."
"No! We can't."
"Why not?!"
"Try calling her on her cell phone."
"Yeah...why didn't I think of that?" *dialing Amy's #...waiting
for her to pick up*
Amy heard anoying ringings of her cell phone. Her body was aching
all over from the uncomfortable position she was in. She then realised
she wasn't on her bed but on the back seat of her own car. She immediately
got up, only to find this cute looking man driving her car. The man
looked at her from the rear mirror and winked at her. She gasped.
"Who the hell are you?!" She looked out the window. The
were driving on the interstate. "And where the hell you're taking
me?"
She waited for him to answer her demanding question, but he just sat
quietly, driving. She thought that he didn't look so bad, rather,
he looked like a good guy and charming, too. What the hell! I got
kidnapped, and I'm sitting here thinking he's a good guy? Man, but
a cute and fine one, though. Nice blue eyes....*sighs in her
mind dreamily* Oh Lordie! What's wrong with me?! I'm suppose to be
scared to death that I got kidnapped not dreaming how cute he looks.
"Hey, mister?" she asked nervously now. "Ummm...*gulps*
What are you
going to do with me?"
Geez...what a stupid question. The man can do million things to her
*thinking of what he can do* Oh golly! He can rape me, of course,
then murder me and leave me out there...but, wait a minute, he could've
dont that last
night. Whar exactly do he want?
She growing impatient with him not answering her.
"Dammit, you bastard! What the hell do you want with me?!"
He finally did something. He actually laughed at her. "Hehehehe...Ni,
ter mai thong glua rawk(look, you don't have to be afraid). Chun ja
mai tum arai ter rawk(I'm not going to do anything to you)."
"Then tell me, where are you taking me?"
"I'm not taking you nowhere, Ms. Phawadee."
"How do you know my last name?"
"Your credit cards." He took the credit card from his pocket
showing them to her as if it was gold. He saw that she was reaching
for it so he quickly put them back in his pocket.
"Eh! Aow card hai chun kuen si(hey, give my card back to me)!"
"Mai(no). I need to...ummm...borrow it."
Amy slumped back down on the seat. She then thought about her cell
phone.
It was ringing earlier. She thought about calling her sister or Nina
that she got kidnapped.
"Go ahead, call your friends or family. I want you to,"
he blurted out.
Amy wondered how he knew that she was thinking about calling them.
"How the hell did u-"
"Hey, I left that cell phone of yours so you can call them to
tell them you're doing fine."
"Doing fine?! How can you say that? You think being kidnapped
is fine,
and I don't think they'll understand that, dammit!"
"Just call them, will you?"
Man, he's a wierd kidnapper!
She didn't trust him at all. It was probably part of his plan, whatever
it might be.
"You're gunna call them?"
"Hell no! Like I trust you!"
"You should."
"Tell me the reason why I should, huh?"
"I haven't hurt you in any way. That's one."
"Yea, haven't. Who knows? Maybe you will."
"And you're not scared?"
"No! I'm not scared of you."
"Then that tells me you trust me, right?"
"No! Dammit, you expect me to trust you when you kidnapped me?
Oh, no no no no no...hellll no!"
Somehow, he liked the way she is. She speaks her mind. And she's even
cute...hehehe....
He smiled at the thought.....
