Chapter 7 King Henry sat quietly at his chair in the study room as he watched his daughter from the window. He had realized that she loved horses from just sitting here and studying her with his men's horses and the other horses that he had kept as his own. He had not known any of his daughter Kelly's hobbies and now he knows that she love horses and probably love being outdoors. He placed his hand under his chin as he thought about his other daughter, the one who had ran away and had disobeyed him, and think of all the times and years that he had dedicated himself to her. Missing out on important meetings with the other powerful men because he had to be there with her for some reason that he didn't understand, but maybe it was just because he was the father and not the mother. That's why he didn't understand and couldn't raise her to be a daughter that he wanted her to be. The knocking on the door woke him out of his thought as a young servant walked in with a piece of letter in his hand. "A letter from King George." He said as he handed to King Henry and walked out of the room, leaving him there to read the letter. King Henry - my beloved friend, I am thrill to hear that your daughter and I will be wed together. I can not wait to see her for myself and to see how she really is like. I will be visiting you before the day of our wedding; this is just a notice. I am not sure yet if I will make it, but thank you so very much for willing to give your daughter into my hands. Also, I will be there for the meeting. Sign, King George King Henry felt his heart beating faster as he thought about when King George arrive and there is not bride waiting for him. At times he felt as if his heart had skipped a beat and his body was numb to the core. He must order his men to look more careful and find her before King George arrives here or before anyone in town knows about the disappearance of the princess. He slammed the letter onto the table next to him and could felt his nails digging into the hard wood of the polished table. Before his face could get any redder than it is now, he got up and decided that he would join his daughter for a little horse back riding around his land and get his mind off of everything that was bothering him. Kelly brushed the horse's back with her hand as the thought about back home where her Auntie and her would go out on every Tuesday afternoon to the farm about a mile away from them and enjoy some horseback riding. She wasn't sure if her father would let her ride horses, an older servant about the same age as her father was in one of the stable feeding the rest of the horses and enjoying a soft hum to his self. "Excuse me." Kelly said as she walked over to him, "Do you think that my father would mind if I take this horse and go for a little ride around the castle for a while?" Kelly asked, but before he could answered her, King Henry was already at the door answering his daughter. "Of course, dear." He said as he walked toward Kelly and a smile came upon her face, "You can ride any horse you chose." Kelly quickly grabbed the rein on the horse she was brushing a while ago. "Do you think that I can join you on a little ride too?" He asked as Kelly wrinkled her nose as she would not, but she flashed a smile across her face and said, "Of course father." He took hold of a rein and walked the horse out of the stable and they both got on the horse and galloped away as the thick wooden gate opened for them both. Kelly trailed behind her father as the servants looked on from the gate and closed it back down when they were gone out of site. King Henry's land was beautiful, it was fill with all sort of different color flowers, from wild ones to the one that everyone loved. There must have been miles and miles of plain empty green grass and beyond that was hills of wild flowers with colors that scream out freedom, peace and love. Kelly searched the place with her eyes as they halt their horse and enjoyed the time together as father and daughter. "This place is magnificent." Kelly said in shock as if she'd never seen anything like it before. King Henry only smiled at her comment and rode his horse further through the thick green grass, he was glad to be out again and not remember any worries back at home. "Father..." Kelly started as she thought that this was the time to tell her father that she had came back to England only because she was to meet her fianc? and be wed with him. "Yes, dear." King Henry said as he turned to face his daughter who was enjoying the lovely sight and the fresh air. "I have something to tell you." Kelly said as they stopped their horse and King Henry waited for Kelly to continue. "I came here because..." Her voice broke off as she saw a gentleman riding his own stallion coming toward their way, King Henry looked toward where Kelly was looking and saw him too. He smiled at the gentleman and waved as he rode his horse quickly toward them. "And may I ask who this lovely young lady is?" He said as he made a completely stop about a couple of feet away from them. "This, younger brother is your niece." King Henry said as Kelly stared at his face. "Kelly..." King Henry pointed out as Kelly nodded at him, "This is your uncle, Dome." "Well, look at you." Dome said as he rode his horse around his niece, seeing how she had grown since his brother placed her in the hands of their sister. "You're practically a lady." Kelly gave a little blush as she forgot about what she was going to tell her father. "She is a lady, little brother." King Henry said as he placed a hand on Kelly's shoulder, "She grew up to be beautiful, just like her mother." Dome nodded at the comment and agreed on what his brother just said. "I heard the news, brother." Dome said, "I came as quickly as possible." "What news?" Kelly asked as she turned to study her father's face. "It's nothing." King Henry said as he continued, "Why don't you ride out here for a while and your uncle and I will go back for some conversation." He said as he and Dome started to head back. "Is there something wrong?" Kelly called back. "No dear, everything is perfect." He replied her with a smile that said everything is truly all right, but there isn't. "Kelly doesn't know about her sister running away?" Dome whispered as they rode their horse near the castle, King Henry slowly shook his head, as he looked straight ahead. "She knows nothing about this problem or about her sister getting marry, she haven't even met her yet." King Henry said as they came near to the gate. The look on Dome's face told King Henry that he was shock, but he kept quiet until they got inside. Kelly rode her horse in silence as she enjoy the warm weather and the nature surrounding her, it reminded her of back home with her Aunt, which they live in a small town with about three hundred people. She could felt herself smiling as she rode around the open field. I have to let Gumpan know that I've arrive, Kelly thought as her horse slowed down near a river through a forest that almost seem enchanted to Kelly. She swung her leg over the horse and got off as she walked the horse to the river. Kelly knew that she had to inform Gumpan, but she didn't know how she was going to inform him. After wetting her face and letting the horse have some drink, Kelly got on again and started back to the castle again. She thought about going to tell her father before Gumpan thinks that she had decided not to come. ..........TO BE CONTINUED .... |
