Scene 1
Florence Vanida Faivre laid in bed, staring up at
her ceiling as rain pattered against her bedroom
window. She sighed as she turned to glance at the
window. Everything in her life was shattered that
week. The rain that had poured down the whole
week matched her exact mood. Thunder roared as
Florence stood up to close the curtain. She went
back and sat on her bed, pulling her blanket
until it covered every part of her. She buried
her face in her arms and sobbed unconditionally.
The door to her room opened and her best friend,
Teya Rojers, entered. “Florence, cheer up
girl!” she said as she sat next to Florence,
giving her a comforting hug. Florence slowly
looked up at her friend. Her bloodshot eyes shown
above the deep circles that shaped her normally
beautiful brown eyes. “Kat! Are you going to
be like this all week? Come on! I’m going to
be gone for a while. I want to see you happy
before I go.” Teya said. She was referring
to her trip to Thailand in 2 weeks. “Dome
doesn’t deserve you! You’re too good
for him. Four years is nothing!” Teya
sighed. She was completely fibbing to make her
friend feel better. Florence had spent the last
four years of her life with Dome and Dome had
decided he wanted another girlfriend and had
dumped Florence that week. Teya gave Florence a
comforting smile. “Oh! I know. You need
fresh air. You’ve been cooped up in this
little room all week long.” Teya looked
around the room. “Hey! You can go to
Thailand to with me! Come on! It’s summer
and you don’t have to stress about those
college acceptant letters until we get back. Oh!
You’re going with me! It’ll do you some
good. I’ll be fun. Just the two of us! Oh!
You can finally meet Louis and did I mention?
Thailand has some of the cutest guys! You’ll
forget Dome in no time!” Teya smiled as she
vision the trip. “Now cheer up and pack your
bags! We’re leaving
early…say…tonight! So we can get back
before your college acceptant letters are
due.” Teya pulled Florence up out of her bed
and grabbed a duffle bag from her closet.
Scene 2
“Hey Louis, give me the demo tape of that
new singer.” Joni said as he played with the
stereo. Louis shuffled through the tapes and
handed Joni a cassette labeled ‘Aon.’
Joni took the cassette and played it in the
stereo. Louis bumped his head to the music with a
smile. “She
sounds…good.” Louis commented as he got
up and walked over to where Joni was. Anan
entered the room.
“Hey! What are you guys doing here?”
Anan asked as he sat on the chair in
front of a desk filled with files.
“Waiting
for P’ to come back.” Joni answered as
he stopped the cassette and
walked over to the chair next to Anan. He sat
down and leaned on the desk. “Why are you
here?”
“I
have a meeting with P’.” Anan replied.
“It’s my time. You guys get out.”
Anan added with a laugh. Louis looked at his
watch and turned to Joni and Anan.
“Hey
Joni, Anan. I’m going to leave. I have to
pick up Teya from the airport.” Louis said
as she grabbed his jacket and headed for the
door. “Umm…Joni, I’ll come over at
like 8.” Louis added. Joni nodded as Louis
left. Louis closed the door behind him and
started walking through the hall and to the
nearest elevator. He pressed the button as the
elevator door opened. Pookie stood in the corner
of the large elevator as Louis walked in.
“Priscilla! What are you doing here?”
Louis asked as he pushed the ‘1’
button. Pookie smiled.
“I’m
here to pick up P’ Tong.” Pookie
replied. “Where are you off to?”
“My
girlfriend Teya is visiting me from the states
and I’m going to pick her up.” Louis
replied with a big smile. Pookie returned a smile
as the elevator door opened.
“Oh
really? Well have fun then. This is my floor.
I’ll talk to you some other time then
Louis.” Pookie said as she walked out of the
elevator. Louis smiled and waved good-bye. The
elevator door closed as Louis stood back and held
on to the railing. Finally, the elevator door
opened on floor 1 and Louis stepped out. At the
front desk he saw Momay and Touch talking.
“Hey you guys!” Louis greeted as he
waved his hands at them. Momay and Touch turned
around and waved back. Louis walked to the
smooth, long black limo parked in front of him.
The driver opened the door as Louis climbed in.
“Where
to?” the driver asked.
“To
the airport please, Terminal 2.” Louis said
as the door closed. Louis leaned back in his seat
as the driver got in the limo and started driving
out of the RS Promotion building. Louis smiled as
he pictured Teya coming through the door. He
sighed and stared out the window as the limo slid
into the front of the airport. The driver opened
the door for him and he walked out. “Circle
twice then I’ll be back here.” Louis
said as he quickly ran in to the airport. He
checked the gate number and ran up to the second
floor. Looking around he spotted gate 5. People
were coming out already. He ran over and checked
if Teya had come out. Taking a breath he smiled
as the girl of his dreams walked through the
entrance of the door. A beautiful girl followed
her as she walked towards Louis.
“Teya!” Louis exclaimed as he hugged
her and gently spun her around. The beautiful
girl who followed Teya stood aside and smiled.
Teya laughed and kissed Louis’ cheek.
“Miss
me?” Teya asked with a smile. Louis nodded
and let her go. He smiled and stared at the other
girl.
“Hi.
I’m Louis.” He said as he held out his
hand.
“Hey.
I’m Florence.” She replied as she shook
Louis’ hand. Louis turned to Teya.
“My
best friend!” Teya said.
“Oh!”
Louis exclaimed. “You’re not 15,
right?” Florence shook her head with a
smile. “Nope.” She replied. Teya
laughed.
“What?
She looks older, huh? Do you think she could be
my sister or something?” Teya replied. Louis
smiled.
“Sisters,
definitely. So how old are you?” Louis
asked.
“Seventeen.”
Florence replied. Louis smiled.
“Like
me.” Louis said. “Ok. Let’s go get
your bags and go to the limo before my driver
circles a third time and gets mad.” Louis
laughed.
Scene 3
The elevator door opened as Louis, Teya and
Florence exited the elevator. “So, Florence,
first trip to Thailand?” Louis asked.
“Um…No,
I’ve been here a while back.” Florence
replied. “I think when I was 8 or
9…about 11 years ago.”
“That’s
good. It’s good to revisit.” Louis
said. Teya smiled as she linked her arm onto
Louis’.
“Don’t
mind him. He’s not good with talking to new
friends.” Teya replied with a laugh. Louis
smiled.
“So,
how did you guys become best friends?” Louis
asked as he led them down the hallway.
“I
met Florence through my mother a couple of years
ago when I went back tp Michigan for school. Our
mothers were best friends.” Teya explained.
Louis nodded as he opened the door labeled
‘Joni Anwar’. Joni was asleep on the
blue couch when they entered.
“Shhh!”
Louis said as he put a finger over his mouth and
turned back towards Florence. Florence smiled and
followed Teya and Louis inside. Louis closed the
door behind them. Louis creeped up to Joni’s
ear as Teya and Florence watched from afar. Louis
smiled as he leaned in. “JONI!” he
yelled.
“Oy!”
Joni yelled as he sat up quickly. He looked
around and gently punched Louis in the arm.
“Stupid.” Louis laughed hysterically.
Teya smiled and pulled Florence over to where
Louis and Joni were. Joni rubbed his eyes and sat
up. When his vision became clear he looked at
Teya and Florence.
“Wassup
Teya.” Joni greeted tiredly as he held out
his hand. Teya smiled and shook his hand.
“Joni,
I want you to meet my best friend,
Florence.” Teya said pointing to Florence.
Florence smiled as she shook Joni’s hand.
“Hi,
it’s a pleasure to meet you.” Joni
replied.
“Pleasure’s
all mine.” Florence said. Joni smiled. He
couldn’t keep his eyes off this beauty. She
looked beautiful. Teya smiled as she saw Joni's
look.
"So!
Now that you guys have met, let's go out for some
food!" Teya said with a smile as she took
Florence by the hand and started to drag her
towards the door. Louis nodded and waited for
Joni's answer.
"You
guys go ahead. I have to make a phone call."
Joni said. Louis nodded again as he walked
towards the door. Florence and Teya walked out
into the hall way."

tonight, right?" Louis asked. Joni nodded
and headed for the phone. He dialed some numbers
and waited. "You calling Sunisa?" Joni
nodded.
"Hello.
Sunisa?" Joni asked. Louis looked at him one
last time and shook his head. All of the time he
had known Joni he had gone from girl to girl,
dumping one for the next. Sunisa was Louis' good
friend and he didn't want Joni hurting Sunisa.
Louis had noticed the look in Joni's eye when he
had met Florence. It was the same old look that
he had when he had met Sunisa. Louis closed the
door.
"Let's
go." Louis said as he forced a smile. Teya
smiled and hooked her arm
onto Louis'. Louis turned to her and smiled and
Florence followed behind.......
