| If I
Could Turn back the hands of time...[Alyssa's debut with
JR!] thanks to all the people who put their input in on the characters and what they wanted. as you can see...if you put some input in here then that means you will see the names in here! [ Webboard ] PART 1 "Can I help you?" Myria looked up as she placed her finger on a small, but thick book. A plump red-headed lady stood in front of her. "Um...no. I'm just looking." Myria replied. The lady nodded and continued down the small aisle. Myria sighed as she pulled out the book. "Land Of Smiles." She read, examining the book. "Perfect." Tucking it in her arms along with ten other books on Thailand she hurried to the check-out. "Next." the man called from behind the register. Myria forced a smile as she approached him, lying her books on the counter. "Good afternoon. Did you find everything to your liking?" Myria nodded. "Land Of Smiles. Wow. Are you planning a trip to Thailand?" "Oh, it's just for my final essay." Myria replied. "I'm taking a World History course." She explained. The man nodded and rang up her books. After she paid Myria ran to her car and quickly started it, driving off. *** Myria forced a smile as she spotted Areya, her neice who was staying with her. Areya was almost in tears as she stared at Myria behind the gate. "Hey darling." Myria greeted as she picked her neice up and spun her around. Areya frowned and demanded to get down. "Are you mad at me?" Areya nodded. "I'm sorry baby. I was at the book store." Myria setted her back down on the ground and reached for her hand. The school yard was empty, she hadn't noticed it when she had arrived. She knew she was late, but she didn't expect the whole school empty except for her little second grade neice. She pecked a kiss on Areya's cheek and started leading the way down to the car. Areya looked up at Myria. "Aunt Nat, I wanna see my mommie." Areya said. "Uh...Areya, we talked about this before." Myria hesitated. Her sister had been sent to rehab to stop smoking and drinking a year ago after she had miscarried her second baby due to her problem. Her husband had left her for his secretary and Areya was sent to live with Myria until her mother got out. Myria picked Areya up and carried her to the grass near-by. She seated Areya on the grass and sat beside her. Forcing a smile as took Areya in her arms and kissed her forehead. "Mommie will come visit you when she's ok. Right now you stay with Aunite Nat, even if you despise me for not picking you up on time today." Areya pulled away and looked at Nat confused. "What's despise?" Myria smiled. "disliking." Areya hugged her aunt. "I love you." Areya said. "I love you too." Areya smiled as Myria patted her back. *** Myria awoke to the beeping of her alarm. Feeling groggy, she dozed back to sleep. "Good morning." someone said from the door. Myria sighed and sat up. "Mos." She said. Mos smiled and walked over to her side. "Did you send Areya to school?" Mos nodded and leaned over to kiss her. She smiled as he broke their kiss. "Thanks. I needed that." "Anytime." Mos said. He held her by her waist and nuzzled his face into her back. "I missed you last night." "Why didn't you come over? I had some movies. Areya and I stayed up until 8:30." Myria laughed. "You fell asleep first, right?" Mos joked. Myria smiled and turned back to kiss him. "You better get up and start working on your final paper." Mos stood up and streched as Myria grunted and fell back into her bed. "Come on sleepy head. We got to get to school before all the parking is taken." "Alright. Give me thirty minutes!" Myria shouted from under her blanket. Mos smiled as he walked into the living room. On the coffee table were the books Myria had bought on Thailand a couple days ago. He had once lived in Thailand, but he didn't remember it well. Mos walked over to the books and grabbed one. He sat on the sofa and flipped through the book. He noticed that Myria had marked it and quickly read through it, hoping he could impress her by helping her on her paper. When Myria was ready Mos was almost at the end of the chapter. "What are you doing?" Myria asked as she struggled to get into her jacket. Mos dropped the book and looked up at her smiling. "I was just...checking it out." Mos replied, standing up. "Ready?" "Yup." Myria replied, grabbing her book bag. *** The sun shone high as Myria and Mos sat on the green fresh cut grass, waiting for their next class. Myria giggled as she watched Mos trying to fix his hair. The rowdy wind kept blowing it into a mess as Mos struggled to tame his hair. Myria grabbed his hand and held it, still laughing. "Oh, it looks fine!" Mos shook his head, pulling his hand back and starting to fix his hair again. Myria scooted closer to him and wrapped her arms around his waist. Mos stopped and placed his hand over her's. "When are you going to Thailand?" Mos sighed. "Next week." Myria replied. "You can take care of Areya for me, right?" Mos nodded. "Of course, anything for you." Mos leaned over and tasted the sweetness of her lips. Myria broke the kiss. "What's wrong?" Mos asked. "Nothing." Myria sighed. "It's just that i don't think i will get a good grade on my final." "Don't worry about it." Mos replied as he hugged her. "I'll still love you." Myria forced a smile and hugged him back. *** Cathaleya studied her bestfriend as she walked towards her. She looked rather sad and pale. Myria forced a smile as Cathaleya appoarched her. "Hi." Cathaleya greeted, giving Myria a hug. "How've you been?" "Truthfully...i'm going out of my mind." Myria replied. "Why?" Cathaleya asked curiously. Myria shook her head. "I don't know. Mos and I have been together for...3 years now and our relationship is not going anywhere. I think he's becoming impaitent." Myria explained. "I told him it's important to me and i want to save it for my wedding night with the man i'm going to spend the rest of my life with. Mos...he's great...but somehow i know he's not the one." "Are you guys having problems?" Cathaleya questioned as they walked into the small restuarant. Myria shook her head. "What's the problem? If he loves you then he'll wait." "I love him, but he's not mine." Myria said. "I don't want to leave here leaving behind something i should've done. You know, having to struggle with coming back here and just...i dunno....having to tell him it's over." "It's not over." Cathaleya assured her. Myria shook her head. "I don't know anymore Cat." *** Myria stared out the window of the plane as Mos and Areya waved good-bye from the window of the airport. Myria sighed and leaned back into her seat. A coupld of hours after the plane had been in the air Myria drifted off to sleep, her Thailand books in her lap. Myria awoke the sound of screams and yelling. "What's happening?" Myria asked the man next to her. He didn't answer. Instead, he was all wrapped up. His arms were holding his curled up legs together and he was still shaking uneasily. Myria stared as the oxygen masks fell down from the compartment in front of her. Panicing she pulled her oxygen mask on her mouth and helped the man next to her put his on. They were expecting the worst as the plane dove into the ground. *** "Miss, Miss!" Myria awoke to the shouting of a man, expecting to see a paramedic or the pilot. Instead, standing in front of she was the unexpected. It was a man dressed in old traditional Thai clothing. "Are you ok?" His english was broken. Myria nodded. "Come with me. I can help you." he said. Myria nodded, not knowing who he was. He started walking as Myria lied there, her legs paralyzed. He turned back when he realized she wasn't following. "Do you need help?" he asked. Myria nodded as he ran back to help her. "What's wrong?" "I can't feel my legs." Myria replied. He placed his arm around her. "Do you mind?" he asked. "Just please help me." Myria said. He continued and picked her up. "Hold on." he said. Myria wrapped her arm around his neck as he trugged along in the woods. "Where are we going?" He didn't answer. In minutes they were at the end of the woods. After he pulled the leaves out of there way, there stood the most beautiful place that Myria had ever seen. "Oh my goodness! It's so...wow!" Myria stared at the gold palace sparkling back at them. The man brought her into the palace doors and placed her on a small bed, then got down on his knees as a man dressed in gold walked over to him. Myria watched as the man placed his hands together and bent down, still on his knees. "Swatdee krup." the man greeted, staring at Myria. "Swatdee ka." Myria replied, hesitantly. The man sense she wasn't fluent. "Who are you?" he asked. "I'm Myria Bennedit." she replied. He nodded. "Somchai, take this young lady to a room." He instructed. The man on the ground who had carried her from the woods bowed again and crawled over to Myria. The man standing walked away as Somchai stood up and carried her up to a room, placing her on the bed. The room looked beautiful. The bed spreads were silk and the windows were blowing the curtains in. Somchai walked over and closed the windows. Myria stared at the stautes that surrounded the room. "Who was that man?" Myria asked confused. Somchai stared back at her, shocked. "Miss, everyone knows him. He is Chao Fah Mongkut, the king of Siam." Somchai replied. Myria looked was shocked. "Rama IV." "What?" Myria stared at Somchai. "What is the year?" "1860." answered. "The reign of Chao Fah Mongkut." Myria shook her head. "No, it was 2001." Myria replied, by now her whole body was in shivers. "And who are you?" "The loyal servant of Chao Fah Mongkut." Somchai replied. Myria looked around. "You say it's 1860?" Myria asked. Somchai nodded. "So Mrs. Anna Leonowens has not even arrived." Myria said to herself. "What? What did you say?" Somchai asked. "Oh nothing." Myria said as she forced a smile. "Are you Thai?" Somchai asked. Myria nodded. "Well, half. I'm half American." Myria explained. Somchai nodded. "The how come you do not know about Chao Fah Mongkut? Do you people in 2001 not know about King Mongkut? He is a great king." Somchai said. Myria nodded. "I was doing a reading about him earlier. It's just i forgot his name." Myria replied. "I'm sorry i do not know your nobel king." Somchai quieted and stared at her. "What is the last thing you remember?" Myria looked up at him. "You mean before the plane crashed?" "Plane?" Myria nodded. "Well I was asleep on my way to Bangkok, Thailand or otherwise known as Siam." Myria replied. "And i awoke to screaming and before i knew it, i saw you." "How interesting." Somchai commented. "I still think you're making this up." Myria grunted. "I don't care if you believe me or not." Myria said. Somchai nodded. "I'm going to leave now." Somchai replied as he walked towards the door. "Wait." Myria said. Somchai stopped. "Where are you going?" "I am going outside to meet with the royal family." Somchai explained. "Really? Could I go?" Myria asked, excitedly. Somchai thought for a moment and turned back towards her. "No harm in that, sure." Somchai walked over and picked her up, carrying her outside. When they got out to the garden Myria was in complete awe. "I am going to leave you with the concubines." Myria nodded as Somchai walked her over to the patio filled with women brushing eachother's hair. Somchai placed her down on a big pillow and quickly told the concubines who she was before running down to where the royal children were. A lady walked over to Myria and sat beside her. She was very pretty, her hair was tied up and she was dressed in the traditional Thai clothing. "Hello Miss." she greeted. "Hi." Myria replied. "What is your name? My name is Ann Alisha." "Nice to meet you Ann, I'm Myria." Ann smiled and stared at Myria's hand. Myria smiled and reached for her hand and shook it. Ann forced a smile. "This is how we greet people." Myria explained. "Oh, where are you from? You dress differently." Ann said. "I'm from...France." Myria answered. Myria stared at her gold clothing. "You're not a servant to the king, are you?" "Oh no. I am an offspring of Chao Fah Mongkut. A concubine's daughter." Ann explained. Myria nodded. Ann pointed to a boy who was about fifteen or so. "That is my nawng chaai. His name is JR." "younger brother?" Myria asked. Ann nodded. "My mother is the second concunbine." Ann explained. It was silent as they watched the little kids run around the royal garden. "That is Prince Chulalongkorn." Ann said as he passed them. Myria studied him. He was not tall, nor short. He looked like a normal boy, just that he had a lot of gold on and when he walked pass everyone, they all bowed to him. "He will take the throne when Chao Fah Mongkut passes on." Myria nodded. "Yes, Chao Fah passes on when he is..." Myria stopped. She didn't want to tell them anything about the future. Ann looked at her. "What?" Ann asked. Myria shook her head. "Nothing." "Can i ask you something? From girl to girl." Ann asked. "Have you ever been in love?" "Um...i think i was once." Myria answered with a smile. "How did it feel?" "It's something that words can never explain. It just feels right when you're with them, but it faded for me." Myria explained sadly. Ann nodded. "Are you?" "Oh no. I can't be. I have never seen a man. There is no reason to be in love anyways. My marriage will be arranged for me." Ann explained. "There is a nobleman by the name of Num Sonram Teppitak. He will come visit me and if he desires me, i'm his." "My goodness. Have you ever met or seen this man?" Myria asked, shocked. Ann shook her head. "The idea isn't to have seen him and fall in love with him, but the learn to love him sometime during the marriage." Ann explained. "Chao Fah Mongkut explains it better than i do." "He is your father. Can't you just call him father?" Myria asked, confused. Ann shook her head. "No, we're not like you people in...France. We must address him by his title to show respect." Ann replied as a women dressed in rags walked over to her with a basket full of flowers. Ann nodded as she walked behind Ann and sat down, undoing Ann's hair and starting to braid it with the flowers. "Hi." Myria greeted her. The women smiled and bowed down. "Swatdee ka." She replied. Ann smiled. "The only servants who know how to speak English are Somchai and Ruengsak, but we address him as James. A French leader renamed him. He was the first servant to learn English." Ann explained. Myria nodded. "You have met Somchai, but you haven't met James. They live right outside of the palace walls, in a brick home Chao Fah Mongkut built for them. They are his loyal servants." A beautiful, but elder woman walked towards them and sat down. "Swatdee ka." she greeted as she bowed down. Myria bowed down and repeated her. "Mae, this is Myria. She is a visitor from France." Ann said, looking at the lady. "Bonjour." she said with a smile. "I'm sorry. Did i say France? I mean England." Myria laughed, feeling stupid. Ann's mother smiled. "How do you do?" she asked, hesitating between words. "I'm fine. And you?" Myria replied. Ann's mother thought for a moment and then looked up and smiled. "I am good." she answered. "I will be going now. My son needs me." When she left Ann giggled. "I'm sorry. My mother is learning English. She knows French and Thai, but she's having trouble with English." Ann explained. "Oh no problem. She's a lovely lady. I can see where you get your looks from." Myria replied as she spotted Somchai walking over to them. Ann giggled as she watched Somchai approach them. "Good afternoon Somchai." She said. Somchai bowed. "How are you today, princess Ann?" he asked. Ann touched his shoulder, gesturing for him to look up and stop bowing. "It's a good day. I was just talking to Myria from England." Ann said. "England, huh?" Somchai asked as Ann nodded. "Well I have to take you to your room now. Chao Fah Mongkut demands for you to rest." Myria nodded as Somchai carried her away from the garden. "I think she likes you." Myria said once they had gotten into the palace. Somchai shook his head. "We were once friends." Somchai said. "We grew up together, but you know the whole thing about servants cant be friends with royalty." Myria nodded. *** Myria smiled excitedly as she took a couple of steps. "Somchai!" She yelled. It had been weeks that Somchai had been carrying her back and forth. Somchai ran in, looking worried. "What is it?" he asked. When he saw her standing. He smiled and walked over to her. Myria laughed and hugged him. Somchai became tense and gently backed away as Myria fell back on the bed. "Isn't it great? I can walk again!" Myria excalimed. Somchai nodded and started out to door. "Where are you going?" "I'm going to assist the king." Somchai answered. "Doesn't he have James?" Myria asked. Somchai nodded. "Then I ask for you to spend the day with me." "I'm sorry-" "Please." Myria pleaded. Somchai thought for a moment and then smiled at her. "Alright. I'll give you a tour of Siam." *** Mos stared at Areya as she laid asleep in his bed. It was the middle of the night and the officers had just dropped by to tell him that Myria was probably dead since it had been 2 weeks and they still didn't find her body with the rest of the passengers. "It is a mysterious plane," they had said. "...everyone just disappered." Mos shook his head, trying to escape from reality. Feeling incontrollably miserble he climbed into bed next to Areya and stared at the ceiling. *** "This is the market place." Somchai explained as they struggled to get through all the people. Myria held onto the rag that was tied around his waist since he wouldn't even hold hands with her. When Myria finally reached him, he took a breath tiredly and smiled, looking around. "There is another marketplace, near by. I'm sure you have seen it. You know, when you sailed here from France or England." Somchai laughed. "Yut!"[stop!] He yelled as a carriage passed them as it stopped a little ahead of them. He smiled and ran towards the carriage, Myria following behind. "Swatdee krup." the man greeted. Myria forced a smile as she studied him. He looked strong, but he was about 35 years old. His feet were dirty from the mud and sand, but his feet were strong and muscular. "Phom yaak pai talaat." [I want to go to the marktet.] Somchai said when they had both gotten into the cart. The man started to run slowly at first and then faster. When he got tired he slowly jogged. Somchai noticed he was out of breath and tired. "Yut!" [stop] Somchai yelled. "Yuu klai jaak thii nii mai?" [is it far from here?] somchai asked. The man nodded. "Doen pai dai mai?" [can we walk there?] Somchai asked. The man nodded. Getting off Somchai reached for Myria's hand and helped her off. Walking over the man he handed the man a bunch of money. The man looked at him in confusion and started crying, falling to his knees. Somchai helped him up and smiled. "Khawp Khun." [thank you] Somchai said. The man shook his head. "Khawp Khun." [thank you] the man said. Somchai smiled and walked back to Myria. "What just happened there?" Myria asked. Somchai shook his head. "Tell me!" "Alright. I gave him some money." "Money? Of course! You paid him for the ride." Somchai nodded. "Then why was he crying." Myria stared at him. "It was enough to get a four month vacation." Somchai replied seriously as he started walking. "How did you get that money?" Myria asked. Somchai shook his head. "Oh never mind then. Where is the market?" Somchai shrugged. "Tell me!" "Fine, just calm down. It's a couple miles from here. It's far." Somchai said. Myria shook her head. "Why do you do this to me?" Myria said as she ran along his strided walk. *** Myria stopped suddenly as she felt something crawling onto her foot. "Somchai!" she yelled, panicing. She had seen a big trantula. "Somchai!" she yelled again. Somchai turned back and saw her in tears, screaming. Running to her side he pushed the spider off. Myria was still in shock and crying. "Thank you." Ignoring her crying he stood her up and leaned down so she could get on his back. "Hold on." Somchai said. Myria nodded, doing as he said. Somchai held her legs as she wrapped her arms around his shoulders. It was moments before he tried talking to her again. By now she was calm. He let her down on a log as he sat baside her. "Are you ok?" he finally asked. Myria nodded. "Are you hungry?" She nodded. Somchai took out something from his pocket. It was wrapped in a bananna leaf. Opening it he handed it to her. "What is it?" she asked. "Thua thawt." he answered. "What?" "Fried peanuts." "Oh." Myria smiled and took one. "Here." She handed them to him. He shook his head. "I'm not hungry." he replied. "Are you sure?" Somchai nodded. "Is there anything else you need?" he asked. Myria shook her head. It was already dark and Somchai planned to sleep there. He stood up from the log and slowly nestled down to the ground, yawning and closing his eyes. "What are you doing?!" Myria exclaimed. Annoyingly he opened his eyes and smiled. "Sleeping." he replied. "I'm exhausted. We'll leave for the market at sunrise." Myria grunted as he closed his eyes. Myria rolled her eyes and laid down, watching him sleep and listening to his breathing. Myria smiled and closed her eyes. *** King Mongkut stared at James in disgust. "Where is Somchai?" he asked. "We have a delima on our hands and he is out with the guest!" Ann walked into the heated talk. "Chao Fah Mongkut, my mother would like to have a word with you." Ann said. King Mongkut ignored what she had said and stared at James. "Money has been stolen." King Mongkut said. "We need all everyone here to help and tell what they witnessed." Ann sat at the door, staring at James. "Any idea who it is?" Ann asked, on her knees. King Mongkut shook his head. "I surely know it's not Somchai." James defended. King Mongkut looked back at him. "Right now i'm holding Somchai as a suspect. He's not here and he was gone the whole day when supposedly the money was stolen." King Mongkut explained. "It's not Somchai, Chao Fah." Ann said. "How would you know?" he asked. Ann stared at James and back at her father. "I have to go." Ann said as she stood up and quickly ran away. "Ann! I did not dismiss you!" the King shouted. "Come back!" By now Ann was already at the garden with her mother. JR was missing and everyone was worried. "I saw him this morning when i was waking up." a women said. "Where do you think he is?" Ann's mother asked. Ann walked over, out of breath and sat next to her mother. "What is the matter?" "Nothing, Chao Fah is busy. He doesn't have time to find out where JR is." Ann explained. Her family discussed on about JR's missing as Ann looked around the palace garden. She knew her brother's daily routine and she knes any minute now he would show up. Ann stood up, looked around and hurridly ran out of the palace garden. Looking around her, she didn't notice what was in front of her and bumped into James. "Sza Jai." [sorry.] Ann said. James looked up at her and smiled. "Not a problem. Where are you going in such a hurry anyways?" James asked. Ann forced a smile and started running again. James laughed as King Mongkut walked over to him. "She likes to run, doesn't she?" King Mongkut said. "James turned around, still laughing and at the sight of the king he fell to his knees. "Yes sir your majesty." James replied. "Go and try to find Somchai. I need to go to the palace garden." King Mongkut explained. James nodded and stood up, running the direction Ann was running. He stopped at the palace gates when he spotted Ann and JR talking behind a bush. He quieted and listened. "Where were you?" Ann asked angrily. "You know i can't lie for you all the time! Now put this on. Take off those rags!" "I'm sorry! I planned to get back before mom awoke, but things don't always go as planned!" Jr whispered, taking off his rags and placing on the clean silver shirt and the gold pants. "What did you do this time?!" Ann asked. "I met a girl." Jr answered with a smile. "Her name is Alyssa." A smile appeared on Ann's face. "Do you love her?" Ann asked. Jr rolled his eyes. "Ann! I just met her. What's with all this love thing for you anyways?" Jr explained with a smile. "Come on! Better get to the garden before Chao Fah gets there! Isn't Num coming today?" Ann nodded annoyingly as they ran towards the garden. James stared at them in confusion. Surely JR had been sneaking out of the palace walls at night and meeting up with some village people. *** Somchai awoke and stared at Myria. She looked so peaceful and at ease. Staring at her a smile spread across his face. When he realized what was happening he stopped and turned away. When Myria awoke, Somchai was gone. Panicing she sat up and looked around. In the distance she spotted him sitting at the lake, trossing rocks into the lake. Myria stood up and when she finally got her balance she walked over to his side. "Good morning." Myria greeted. Somchai turned around and glanced at her. "So do you still want to see the market place? Or do you want to go back to the palace?" Somchai asked. "I say we go take a look at the market place. We've came this far. Do you want to go back to the palace?" Myria asked. Somchai shook his head. "So how are you feeling today?" Myria asked. "Terrible. I feel like i've betrayed someone. Someone who's important to me." Somchai answered. "Whoa! Not the answer i was looking for. I never thought you'd open up to me." Myria said. Somchai stared at her and walked away. "Hey! I'm sorry!" Myria shouted as she ran in front of him. "Tell me what's on your mind." "I don't know. I did something i promised i would never do again. Something bad." Somchai said. "Let's go." Myria was quiet as he led the way to the market. It was hours before they got to the market. "This is the floating market." Somchai explained. Myria smiled as a little kid handed her a flower. "You have to pay for that." Somchai said. Myria grunted. "Fine." He handed the little kid the money as they continued to walk along the dirt. There were many people in their boats selling their produce. "Let's get something to eat." Somchai suggested. Myria nodded as they entered a small tent. A lady greeted them. "Swatdee ka." [hello] "Swatdee krup." [hello] Somchai greeted. "Mii a-rai phi set?" [what do you have that's special?] "Phat thai." [thin rice noodles fried with tofu, pork, vegetables, dried shrimp, egg and peanuts.] she replied. Somchai shook his head. "Khao man kai." [boned, sliced Hainan-style chicken with broth-marinated rice] Somchai nodded. She showed them to their seats and walked away. *** Mos had took Areya to his mother's house and had boughten a ticket to Thailand on the same flight time and airplane number that Myria had boughten earlier that month. Something had seemed to be happening with that airplane. Everytime it went somewhere extremely far it crashed and most of the bodies were never found. He stood there, along with 100 people in a line. Most of the people were dare devils or scientists. Mos checked the clock and held his ticket out for the women. *** Somchai and Myria entered the palace as James hurried to them. "Chao Fah is looking for you!" James warned. "What?" Somchai asked, confused. "He thinks you stole the money!" James shouted. Myria looked at Somchai strangely. "What?!" Somchai shouted angrily, looking at Myria. Minutes later the guards rushed outside and arrested Somchai. Myria was already inside the palace. She could hear the arguing outside but she was too frightened to look. She thought he was innocent, although she had her doubts. Where did he get all that money to pay that man so the man could have a 4 month vacation? Myria thought. She thought of the conversation they had had that morning. ["Terrible. I feel like i've betrayed someone. Someone who's important to me." "I don't know. I did something i promised i would never do again. Something bad." Trembling from the cold she stood up and closed the window. *** Ann smiled as she spotted Myria walking towards her. "Hi." Ann greeted. Myria waved and took a seat next to her. "Where have you been?" "Somchai took me to the floating market." Myria replied. "Oh, goodness. Did you hear what happened to Somchai?" Myria nodded. "He has done so bad for stealing the money that now Chao Fah Mongkut wants Somchai to be killed." "He didn't steal the money." Myria replied, unsure. "That's what i said too. He's innocent. Someone else stole the money." Ann said. "Do you have anything that you have to say to defend him?" Myria thought for a while and looked up at Ann. "Actually everything i remember leads to him doing something bad." Myria answered. "Somchai doing something bad? he thinks falling in love is something bad!" Ann laughed. Myria looked confused, searching Ann's face for answers. Ann stopped. "I guess he did something bad since he obviously hasn't or won't ever fall in love." "Fall in love? why not?" Myria asked, sadly. "His first love broke his heart when he laid her into the ground that one fateful day." Ann explained. "What?" "Ann!" someone yelled from a far. Ann quickly got up. "Ann!" "I'm sorry Miss Myria. I must go. I must go to the temple with my mother and brother." Ann grabbed the gold flower lying on the floor and pinned it to her hair before running off. Myria sat there in complete silence, thinking of who somchai had loved before and how had she died? ***..........
